Timeline of our adoption.

Well, I thought it would be a good idea to start with an outline of all the happenings of our adoption so far. (Well at least as much as I wrote down)

4/22/09 Called Better Future Adoption Services and asked them to send us information on their agency.
5/12/09 Completed our Formal Adoption Application and forwarded it with a disclosure statement and non-refundable application fee ($350) to BFAS.
5/28/09 Got word from Angela at BFAS that we were approved and to call Darlene to get started on our homestudy. I began that night to do a bit of the paperwork for the dossier.
6/4/09 First Homestudy Visit with Darlene
Wright County Jail Administration Office for finger prints. It doesn’t cost anything to do those. Then we went to the local jail to get a name only background check. They will send those to us in the mail.
I also made our Dr. appointments today. Mine is June 9th at 3:40 and Vern’s is June 16th at 3:50. Praying all goes well with that.
6/9/09 Vicky's physical
6/16/09 Vern's physical
6/13/09 2nd homestudy visit
6/17/09 Sent in completed Dossier to BFAS
6/18/09 BFAS received my dossier in the mail
6/19/09 Haile and Molly reviewed my Dossier and said all is well.
6/22/09 Our Homestudy was received at BFAS
7/2/09 Haile got our Dossier authenticated and sent it to DC for authentication
7/9 Talked to Molly today...our Dossier is in route to Ethiopia and being tracked. Should be there 7/10 if all goes well.
7/13 Talked to Molly on Facebook today and she said that our Dossier had indeed made it to Ethiopia on July 10th and that we are now "OFFICIALLY WAITING". YAHOOOOOO!!!!!!!! We are logged in and settling in for the wait.
7/15/09 Today we received our I171H - Which is the approval of your 1600A - Notice of Favorable Determination Concerning Application for advance processing of orphan petition.
- A Visa 37 "Cable of Approval" has been sent directly to the U.S. Consulate/Embassy in addis Ababa, Ethiopia
- We have been approved for 1 or 2 children, either gender, 0-6 years of age
